Thru 5/20: spring/break ‘secret art show’: the spring/break art show returns to a former school in nolita with works by more than 100 artists who’ve exhibited with the show over the past 12 years. Thru 6/8: ‘the city: real and imagined’ film series: presented in association with the museum of the city of new york’s centennial exhibition this is new york: 100 years of the city in art and pop culture, film forum (south village) is hosting a four-week, 60-film festival and related special events spanning seven decades of nyc-centric movies: do the right thing, dog day afternoon, escape from new york, gloria, marty, paris is burning, rear window, shaft, taxi driver, the french connection, the muppets take manhattan, the producers, the warriors, and many more. david zwirner gallery in chelsea (519, 525, + 533 west 19th st), free (rsvp). note: due to the anticipated popularity of this exhibition, expect lines.
